I’m so excited for my one and only tour this year!
I don’t really know what to expect. Most of this was planned by my close friend, Magda Lopez. It started out a few months ago, when I met her at the Soho House Chicago. She read the book, loved it, and said, “Miami needs to meet you!”
So here we are. A few days away from that so called meeting.
There are so many chances for us to see each other, I really hope you’re able to make it to one of these great events. Click on the links below for more information!
On Friday, August 5 at 8 PM, I’ll be at BOOKS AND BOOKS in Coral Gables. I stalked the other authors’ videos on their site this morning. I definitely think this is way out of my league! The presentations I’d seen looked quite daunting. And if you’re one of those who know me, you’ll know that unless it’s a job interview, I’m known to just wing these things. Sorry in advance, Books and Books! Seriously, though, the one thing I want to assure you, is that I do have A LOT to say. Anyway, the format for this will be a 45-minute talk followed by a Q&A and a mini signing. I’ve got this really exciting thing going on at 10 pm that night, so I’m going to have to boot it out of there on time, to have some fun with some very special people.
On Saturday, August 6 from 11 am to 4 pm, I’ll be at the JUST ANOTHER BOOK SIGNING event at the Hyatt Regency Miami. Even if you don’t really want to come for me, you’ll be stuck seeing me there. Although I won’t blame you for wanting to bond with the other cool authors who will also be in attendance. Thanks to the kindness of Yessi Smith (who wrote Pieces of Camden, a great book, and who is also such a lovely person) and Jill Sava, I was given the honor to be one of those who gets to meet you this year.
Oh and by the way, I’m giving away TWO (2) TICKETS to this signing, so please visit my author page on Facebook to enter!
I probably shouldn’t be saying this, but I think my favorite activity will be the one on Sunday, August 7 at 10 am at MORTAR AND PISTIL in Wynwood Yard. My friend, Magda swears that this is the place to be. And so, we’re having a little party, with a little breakfast and a special IN THIS LIFE drink, to talk about LOVE, LIFE and everything else that makes us crazy. It’s going to be an open forum where we get to drink, eat and just have a lively discussion. 100% of the entrance fee for this event will go to the Pajama Program, a not for profit that helps children in shelters.
Do you know why I think this is going to be my favorite? BECAUSE I’M GOING TO GET TO KNOW YOU!
See you soon, #MIAMI, and THANK YOU for all the love.
